Well, according to the news today, the iPad is out due to Steve Jobs showing it off at the Apple conference. The new iPad is touted to be "revolutionary and magical".
Apparently it is much more than a laptop and capable of more than a smartphone. We'll see how things stack up. The iPad will be powered by a 1GHz Apple A4 chip, and has 16GB to 64GB of flash storage. It is just 1.5lbs light, touts a 9.7-inch DPS display and is just .5" thin. So for those on the move, there's not too much weight to worry about. But with a 1GHz processor, what are you really going to be able to do besides read email, surf the web.....well, pretty much the same things that you can do with the iPhone or iTouch. If it doesn't tell you something, the iPad is going to run from the same App Store as the iPhone. See this link for screenshots: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1246551/iPad-Steve-Jobs-unveils-Apples-revolutionary-tablet-computer.html. Can you say larger iTouch?! The cost is looking to be somewhere between $600 and $1000 per device. Let's see in the coming months if it matches up to the price. Comments???
